We are having us a tropical heat wave in this beautiful
northland. Went to town yesterday and never even needed a jacket now that is pretty awesome for the end of January. It got up to 20 degrees above zero, we enjoyed it to the fullest for we know it is too much of a good thing to last for long. It has been snowing all day today, and is supposed to turn cold again so it's back to the real world.. Loved it while it lasted. Have been so enjoying the birds as they have been keeping very busy at the feeder. Don't need a
tv when one has such a show to watch. We moved my great aunt Adeline in with us for awhile, as doctors are thinking she
might have had a slight stroke last Tuesday, she was very weak and they didn't want her to be by herself, so she will be staying with us until she gets some strength back. She is no trouble to have around, I love when I get a chance to visit with her one on one. She is pretty much deaf, but if it is all quiet and just the two of us I can usually get her to telling me some awesome stories of days gone by. I love listening to them, and when she smiles her whole face lights up, I love her smile, and have always admired and thought of her as a beautiful lady. She had polio in 1946 while she was pregnant, and

gave birth to a still born son. She never was able to get pregnant again after that, so the polio must have done damage there as well. She has been through a lot of tough times in her lifetime, and has seen lots of changes along the way. She has lot of precious memories happy and sad, but so precious to hear her tell about them. She spend quite a bit of time sleeping, it is pretty much a full time job for her to get dressed w/ a little help from me and then to eat, take her
meds and
eyedrops, and going to the bathroom. She weighs in at 79 lbs. with
longjohns, extra layer of clothing and winter boots on. So Lord knows she really needs every bit of food we can get her to eat, which is probably less than some of these birds eat each day. Doctor says our goal needs to be to just keep her where she is, so we will treasure and be so thankful for each and every day we get to spend with her. We lost our brother-in-law, Darrell, last week. He was 86 yrs old and they would've celebrated
thier 25
th wedding anniversary on Valentines Day. His last two weeks on this earth were filled with pain and suffering so we can be so thankful that he is now in a much better place with no more pain and suffering. We love you rest in peace Darrell. Well enough for now, have bread about ready to come out of the oven,
mmmmm it smells so good in here.
